St George's day Hobby Art Samples World War One Layout.

The layout came to be when I saw the beautiful set of Remembrance Stamps From Hobby Art, and this being 100 year Centenary of the Great War I decided to do a Scrapbook page....easier said then done oh the stamps were fab and the inspiration was there the problem was the photos!
Having asked around my family and drew a blank yes we had Uncles and my Granddad was there  in Flanders Fields...but alas no photos. Back to the drawing board. Then we saw a friend of ours  Ted who kindly offered to let me use copies of his family Photo's Took a week to get them to me Then I hurriedly went into town to have them scanned so I could keep the originals to give back to him ....That done I bought a sheet of gift wrap with postcards on changed the dates on the post marks and away I went.  TED BILL AND VICTOR are names of My Uncles who where born before War war broke out indeed Uncle Vic was Named for Victor Kitchener of  "Your country needs you"  fame . The remembrance set is another easy set to use not just for cards as I hope I have shown here....

Commemorative Set. Hobby Art

Hi there everyone I know it's unusual for me to blog but I had to share the Brand New Hobby Art Commemorative Set with you . This fantastic set is really made with Scrapbookers in mind althought to show it's versatility I have made a couple of cards to show you here.  And as it's the Centenary of the Great War what better time to bring this out. A few people have asked me what would I use it for well think of the cards you could make for Military charities ....or a retirement card from the military or even a glad you are home safe for someone who has been on a long tour....or to someone who is just your hero cut out their name and randomly stamp the medals on the letters... so many possibilities, dare you use your imagination.
Have a very crafty day. xxx

Hobby Art March DT Sample's

I LOVE the Brand New Wonderful Day set  I could play with this set and come up with a different type of card each time from the top card which I think id quiet zingy  and fresh the middle one with the border that I thought was going to be so hard but which stamped perfect first time I am so impressed with the quality and the ease with which I can do things with these sets I could and no doubt will play for hour's The last card in the set is a wreath which to me has a Victorian feel .....I hope you like these and they inspire you to try these lovely stamps. xx

The next set I have to show you is a New baby set  with toys and the most lovely sentiment which says "Just so much love" I'm sure you will agree with me it's adorable....

Baby on a washing line ,,,,he looked to me like a pea in a pod so I whipped out my old faithful Cricut abd Found SWEET PEA on the New Arrival Cartridge job done xx

Chocolate Baroque and Lavinia.

Both of these cards have The Lovely Chocolate Baroque Stamps used to make them the top
One is from butterfly dreams The image of the carnations are stamped then hand-painted in mica powders, I had forgotton how much I enjoy painting I passed a very relaxing couple of hours making this card and the time just flew... The flourish was stamped in Versamark then had blue mica powder added and the residue brushed off with a clean brush. I used black and white card to mat and layer and added a blue ribbon. Hope you like it

Below I have been a little naughty!
I have used two stamps form two different stamp company's The ART with Everything is from Chocolate Baroque Artistic Affirmations and the Nigela Damascena is from Lavinia Stamps. I thought the two went together rather well and it goes to show that you don't need to have a lot of stamps on a page to make the card interesting.
Well this is my latest offering I do hope you like them many thanks for stopping by and taking a look .
Have a wonderful crafty Day xxx

South West Arty Crafter's Feb Hobby Art Oriental Poppy and Whacking!

Good Morning....After all the storms it's lovely to see the sunshine. And it's such a lovely day here in Plymouth today I have all the windows open and the heating turned off may even get the washing out on the line without it being blown away!!!

The above card ia a lovely easy make although it does require a bit of prep I die cut 4 circles making each 1/4 inch bigger then the previous one then 2 squares the white one is 7 inches the red is 7.1/4 inches yes sorry I am old school and never got to grips with centimetres!

I inked versamark black inkpad and stamped the image this is Hobby Art's Oriental Poppy rather lovely I thought. Then heat embossed it to seal it and give it a gloss surface then once dry I used Tim Holtz Distress stains and just whacked the colour onto the card to make the splats. I have the Lovely Eileen Goodwin to thank for showing me how to do this technique if you get a chance do visit her FB Page She runs the most marvellous workshops and my goal at some point this year will be to attend one .

Once the colour has dried make a cut vertically The first circle is 5 inches so having made the first cut all you do is make the next cut on the left hand side of the flower leaving 2 inches at the top and 3 inches at the bottom .....the right side you make the cut 3 inches from the top and 2 inshes from the bottom you should now have asymmetric cuts ...Using sticky foam pads, take the left top and place it just inside the  red 5.1/4 inch circle place the matching left piece under it just so you can see the red card between them showing through. now do the same with the right side .....once this is done and you are happy just use the rest of the foam pads to layer the other two circles one on top of the other and finally tape to the white card mat and layer on to the red and then finally stick onto an 8x8

Below are a couple more ideas we did at the workshop using this lovely stamp xxx hope you like it have a very lovely day and thank you for stopping by xxxx
